Hailing from Bordeaux, France, Romain Jauzas has built his reputation on as a producer and performer on sacred ground. In the only place that really matters. On stage. With as many performances as he’s had in the past 12 years, it’s almost as though he has spent more time onstage than anywhere else.
But like a fine wine, the making of an artist takes time, patience and dedication to the craft. Inspired from a young age by Jan Hammer, Georgio Moroder, Visage, Dead Can Dance and Kraftwerk, Romain began to refine his palate at the mythical club Chat Blue in Bordeaux and cultivate his talents in his home studio.
As his skills developed, so did his resume. From the CAPC (Musée d'art Contemporain) to Amnesia Bar in Ibiza, Romain has made his mark.
Starting with early shows under his Adjust moniker or as a member of The Breakwaters, Romain soon found himself performing at esteemed clubs such as Enfer, Nautilus and 4 Sans alongside legends such as DAF, Legowelt, Orgue Electronique, Luke Eargoggle, The Hacker, DMX Crew, DJ Di'jital and Ultradyne.
As his sound progressed, it fell away from harsh, violent outbursts of dark noise and grew into a more polished, smooth sonorité - a mature and yet stark expression of bleak, stripped-down Electro.
With early releases on respected labels such as Transient Force and Black Montanas, Romain’s latest release as Jausas The Shining on Open Concept Recordings is “Labyrinthe” - the result of his continued reach towards the pinnacle of his expression.
