Born in 1980, Jussi Österman was eighteen when he started as an active DJ in his hometown of Turku (Finland's techno capital). Blasting dark electro records, then adopting a faster style for a while and continued developing his playing style towards minimal techno. Playing years in small and big venues (such as Koneisto) in Finland eventualy led to launch, organize and play as one of the resident DJs at club Butane in 2004. Five years and Butane still shakes the dancefloors, bringing top quality live acts (Harald Björk, Jori Hullkonen and Aki Latvamäki to name the few) and guest DJs every month. Jussi sees everything as an influence in his music: ”I have always been interested on sounds in general. Sometimes the sound of silence can be utterly crushing and sometimes calming. My sound is the output of those moments when I feel mute silenced. Making and playing music is breathing for me”
