Much like his Icelandic homeland, Oculus is volcanic and geologically active on a large scale. His debut release on Open Concept Recordings is a full-scale ERUPTION, and hails his arrival as one of the brightest new stars in electronic music.
"Awake" is in our estimation, a strong contender for "Track Of The Year" in any genre. Driven by a haunted, alluring vocal and a sub-sonic bassline that literally moves the foundation, this track is a dancefloor DESTROYER!
"UNI" moves forward with an obscene bass groove that takes you deeper as the tension builds. Sounds are absolutely colossal but balanced out nicely with a touch of funk and sublime production tricks throughout. Colossal!
"Romantique" begins with a feeling of subtlety and intrigue that builds over top of a strong, percussive groove. The filter really gets a workout and keeps the Acid weaving it's way in and out alongside tasteful melodic elements.
"Creator" drives it home with an upbeat and distinctly European future-Disco flavour. Feel-good, analog-sounding strings will have everybody's hands in the air. Soaring and majestic, this is how to wrap up a classic release in style!
